Heavy Metals

Many elements can have impacts upon the environment and human health. Those elements designated for the highest concern in human health (both positive and negative) are often called heavy metals due to their higher densities, atomic weights, or atomic numbers. Commonly the term heavy metals refer to negative health impacts of elements such as arsenic, lead, chromium, mercury, and cadmium.
