Spex Announces Partnership Between NSI Lab Solutions and USP for Proficiency Testing

Metuchen, NJ — Spex Certiprep, an Antylia Scientific company, is pleased to announce NSI Lab Solutions, an ISO/IEC 17025, 17043 and ISO 17034 accredited organization and part of Spex, and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) have partnered to provide a robust proficiency testing (PT) program for laboratories around the world. The program provides an increased awareness of individual laboratories and analysts’ performance, supports accreditation requirements, strengthens quality management systems (QMS), builds confidence within multiple industries, and builds regulator assuredness during the registration and lifecycle of products.

NSI collaborated with USP to develop a set of PT schemes to evaluate a wide range of quality control analytical testing. They evaluated material for suitable characteristics for measurement specifications and created scientifically sound and robust protocols to determine assigned values and ensure performance and quality. The PT program leverages NSI’s broad experience to bring customers a diverse set of schemes.

"Partnering with USP has enhanced our expertise in pharmaceutical quality control (QC) processes,” said Lauren Stainback, NSI Lab Solutions Global Product Manager. “We’ve also had conversations with QC laboratories worldwide which has provided us with new ideas to enhance the scope of our pharmaceutical PT program. We plan to add many unique PT samples soon.”

This PT program offers participating laboratories an external unbiased quality assessment of proficiency to verify the overall performance of the testing laboratory against other comparable testing laboratories.
